Since it's formation in 2012 Dave Flynn's IMO has played 34 concerts in 4 countries across 2 continents to more than 10,000 people, averaging around 300 people per show.
On average 500 patrons have attended our performances at the 10 festivals we have played over 7 years.
We have played in 5 counties in Ireland to 7,000 people.
We were seen by over 200,000 people on TG4’s Fleadh TV show.
Youtubers have viewed us 30,000 times, IMO has 1250 Facebook followers, over 460 Twitter followers, over 100 Instagram followers and a mailing list of 700.
The IMO has perfromed in 5 cities, 5 rural towns, 3 rural villages.
The IMO has core members from 10 Irish counties and 5 countries – Ireland, England, New Zealand, South Africa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
We currently have 22 core professional members, 11 are women, 11 are men.
We have 10 deputy members on call – 5 are women, 5 are men.
Our musicians have used over 40 kinds of instruments, 14 of which are not usually found in classical orchestras, 20 of which are not commonly used in Irish traditional music
Our events have featured music by over 20 composers, including 9 female composers.
We have given world premieres of 14 compositions.
We’ve run 4 Apprentices Schemes for 400 musicians, they have joined us from 30 counties in Ireland, 7 countries & 4 continents.
We have tutored over 200 children and over 200 adults, 6 vision impaired musicians.
